What Is ora2know?
The idea for a new community dedicated to Oracle database users emerged in the summer of 2024. During a weekend retreat in Bad Nauheim, we discussed our vision for such a community, formulated plans, chose a name, and outlined the next steps.
In November 2024, the MajorM Foundation was established, headquartered in the Franconian town of Giebelstadt. Our community initiatives operate under the brand “ora2know.” We are currently planning smaller events such as regional evening meetups, one-day events, and focused technical gatherings.

Get Involved
Everyone interested in contributing to the Oracle community is warmly invited to participate! Our members organize themselves into thematic clusters, and each participant can be active in one or multiple clusters.
Since we are in an exciting and dynamic founding phase, your input will significantly shape the structure and direction of ora2know. This is your opportunity to make a difference in the German-speaking Oracle community, contribute to its growth, and answer the question: “What is ora2know?”
Thematic Clusters
We propose the creation of the following clusters and invite interested and motivated participants to join and contribute (or suggest additional topics):
Oracle Database
The core and flagship of Oracle technology. This cluster will cover administration, backup/recovery, licensing, high-availability technologies like RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, performance analysis, tuning, and much more. Databases here are not “old-fashioned” but the backbone of many innovations and a driver of IT evolution.
Oracle APEX
APEX, Oracle’s low-code and rapid development environment, has gained popularity as a platform for developing everything from simple DBA tools to complex enterprise software. Let’s exchange ideas and knowledge to make development even more enjoyable!
Oracle Linux
Born in the 1990s as a free implementation of Unix concepts, Linux has become the standard foundation for everything Oracle-related. Community members have always shared knowledge about this operating system. If you run Oracle products on Linux, this is your cluster. As they say:
“What are clouds made of?”
“Linux, my kid!”
