DBA 2.0 – André Lünsmann (Barmenia AG)
We explored how to rethink database administration and how to address the skills shortage and the information needs of young DBAs at Barmenia with the help of AI. The presentation introduces the further development of the AI approach in the area of event management. The result is a custom-built application for DBAs that provides support both interactively and centrally for event reporting. The talk covers the development, deployment, and planned future enhancements in the spirit of a best practice approach.
Ansible for the Oracle DBA – Janis Ax (ORDIX AG)
In this presentation, Oracle DBAs will learn how Ansible can revolutionize the management and automation of Oracle databases. We take a practical look at how routine tasks such as installations, patching, and backup and recovery processes can be efficiently standardized with Ansible. We also show how the use of playbooks and modules can ensure repeatable, error-free workflows. Particular attention is given to best practices, security aspects, and the integration of Oracle-specific requirements into Ansible. The talk is aimed at DBAs who want to modernize their processes and free up more time for strategic tasks.
