At the end of the year we held our first event: Meet ora2know in Cologne. And we were pleasantly surprised: nearly 40 participants filled the house and sparked plenty of discussion around the two interesting presentations.
The opening talk was given by Andre Lünsmann and Sebastian Pielawa from Barmenia on the topic of “DBA 2.0 – Rethinking Database Administration”. The presentation explored how, in times of a skills shortage and demographic change, the work of DBAs can be better supported — particularly to help younger DBAs with problem-solving and troubleshooting. The result is an AI-powered solution enriched with data from the existing knowledge base.
This was followed by Janis Ax (ORDIX AG), who gave a first impression of how Ansible can support Oracle DBAs in their day-to-day work.
