On November 3rd and 4th, 2025, Oracle enthusiasts, experts, and numerous emerging talents gathered at the Conference Center of the Politehnica University of Bucharest to spend two days exchanging ideas on database-related and
forward-looking technologies as part of ConTech2025 (https://contech2025.rooug.ro). The event was organized by the Romanian Oracle User Group (RoOUG).
The technically wide-ranging program comprised around 40 sessions across several streams, including keynotes, workshops, and panel discussions. More than 30 internationally renowned speakers ensured in-depth knowledge transfer on AI, Oracle APEX, PL/SQL, as well as classic DBA topics.
Among the highlights was the keynote by Sandesh Rao on modern AI agents and the integration of AI in the Oracle database. Noteworthy was the openness of the event: admission was free of charge, which in my view explained the strong participation of students and young professionals. Also striking was the unusually high proportion of women for an IT conference. Beyond the impressive program, the one-hour lunch breaks provided ample opportunity for inspiring conversations between organizers, product managers, Oracle ACEs, and students alike.
I would very much like to attend this excellently organized conference with its open and welcoming atmosphere again next year.
